U.S. Navy veteran Jerry had been living in his Ventura apartment for a year and a half when he reached out to GCVF for a few furniture pieces. GCVF team members picked up a pair of upholstered chairs and a small dresser and delivered them directly to Jerry.

When a social worker at Oxnard Family Circle Adult Day Health Care Center, reached out about Army veteran Mitch, she shared that his wheelchair was becoming worn and increasingly difficult for him to use. Our team had several wheelchairs with individual issues, so we combined the best components to create one fully functioning chair.

After years of homelessness, an Army veteran was ready for a change. Through a referral from the Salvation Army, he connected with GCVF and found a team willing to meet him where he was.

26-year Navy veteran Jack had been experiencing homelessness for more than a year. He was living in a riverbottom encampment that was scheduled to close, leaving him with nowhere safe to go.

During a summer outreach visit, GCVF met a veteran living outside a Trader Joe's with his dog, trying to escape the extreme heat. As we got to know him, we learned he was living with the lasting effects of a stroke and needed support navigating his next steps.
